Mission & Values

Mission Statement. Our mission is very clear. We want to be known as a flexible and responsive label company offering quality products, dependable delivery and competitive pricing. We create long lasting partnerships with existing customers and seek new customers by continually improving our products, processes and services. We are committed to maintaining a safe, creative, respectful, and supportive environment for our employees. These components contribute to customer satisfaction and company success.

What makes us so special?

Competitive Pricing. Operating at peak efficiency enables QSX Labels to offer a highly competitive price structure. Modern high-speed equipment, high yields, low waste factors, group runs, computerized scheduling and volume buying all contribute towards providing measurable savings to customers.

Consistent Quality. Strict quality controls throughout the production cycle ensure that each custom printed product will comply with a customer’s specification. Detailed documentation of all processes ensures that each order is produced the same way – with the same colors and clarity – every time. All QSX Labels products are carefully inspected before shipping so that they arrive at the customer’s facility with no surprises.

Reliable Delivery. At QSX Labels, reliable delivery is of paramount importance. Computerized order entry, scheduling and job tracking all contribute towards meeting specified deadlines. Flexible schedules enable QSX Labels to accommodate most rush or emergency orders – usually without the need of an expedite fee. Delivery is always to the customer’s schedule. Tell us when you need your shipment and we’ll deliver – on time and on budget.

Personal Customer Service/ Alliances & Partnerships. Perhaps the most visible difference between QSX Labels and other label companies is the significance that QSX Labels places on personal service and customer satisfaction. From initial concept to final printed product, our Sales, Design, Customer Service and Production personnel all work together to provide the customer with solutions to budget constraints and label construction challenges. Customer satisfaction results from alliances and partnerships that QSX Labels forms with its suppliers and the personal service communicated between our Customer Service staff and the customer.

Periodic Buying Programs. Some customers choose to group order for multiple facilities or brands through a periodic purchasing program. Ordering in this fashion provides maximum production efficiencies by minimizing inventories while capitalizing on volume discounts.

QSX Labels will work with your company to establish the parameters for a periodic buying program. By establishing prearranged release dates for just-in-time delivery, QSX Labels will assist your purchasing department by providing a smooth flow of goods, thus eliminating the need for rush or emergency orders. Ask us to arrange for a money saving periodic buying program for your company.

History

Operating out of his parent’s Cambridge, Mass home in 1957, a recently married Mike Karess had decided that he had enough of cross country travel as the top salesperson for Magic Marker Corporation of Cherry Hill, New Jersey and decided to start his own company. This new company, New England Industrial Supply, was established as a distributor of markers, strapping, tapes, packing list envelopes, tape machines, shrink wrap, stencil inks and other shipping room supplies. Mike would stock these products in his parent’s garage and would often sell these items right out of the trunk of his 1957 Thunderbird. Ah, the days of innocence.

Eventually Mike had developed a significant customer base and these very same customers would often comment to him that they were going to be switching from stencils to custom printed labels. They asked Mike if he knew of anyone that printed labels and Mike would often refer them to a friend he had in the industry. Eventually when he realized that he too could produce custom printed labels, Mike hired his first employee to run a one color press that was located in a seldom used bathroom in his parent’s house. The Quik Stik Label Manufacturing Company had been born.

In early 1968 Quik Stik Label moved to Arlington, Massachusetts and Mike purchased another Vanguard press with four color capability and some table rewinders. Within three years business had doubled and a new facility was needed. In 1971 the company moved yet again, this time to a shared building in Everett, Massachusetts.

It is here in Everett that Quik Stik doubled in size again. Adding four new Webtron presses kept pace with the demand and by the early 1980’s a new division, Xygraphix, was created to accommodate silk screen decals and nameplates for the blooming high tech industry that dotted the New England landscape. Business was booming.

Today QSX Labels is the sole tenant of a 21,000 square feet company owned building with a total of six printing presses including a recently added state of the art Omet Flexy Label Printing Press from Italy and an array of both large and small format digital printers. Mike officially retired in 2000 and the company is now being run by his son Robert and a dedicated management team committed to expanding the business and preserving the legacy started by Mike all those years ago.
